Our Mission

Avista Foundation (the new name for Respect) is the fundraising arm of Avista, the s.38 disability support service. Our mission is to develop and fund projects to build more inclusive lives and futures for our supported individuals.

First founded by Sr Martha Hegarty in 1995 under the name Respect, we have a long history of driving new developments across the Avista service (previously known as the Daughters of Charity Disability Support Services). Avista Foundation represents a new chapter in the organisation's history as we focus on delivering more projects across all regions to improve the lives of over 3,000 children & adults with disabilities supported by Avista.

What We Do

Avista Foundation Capital Projects

Projects

Since our inception, we have a long history of delivering capital projects. These have enabled supported individuals in Avista's care with the environments and surroundings needed to live their best lives. Our capital projects have included children's respite homes, sensory gardens, and creating modern, accessible homes.

Avista Foundation Fundraising event

Fundraising

The Avista Foundation is powered by generosity. Every donation helps us deliver life-changing support to the people and communities we serve. We fundraise in many ways, partnering with families, friends, community groups, and corporate supporters who share our mission. We also work closely with philanthropic partners, including trusts and foundations, to drive meaningful, transformative impact.

Avista Foundation Charity shop Dublin

Retail

Our charity shops are an important and growing part of our presence across North Dublin. Today, we have two shops, including locations at 11 Park Shopping Centre, Prussia Street, Dublin 7 and Main Street, Blanchardstown Village. These stores provide essential funding for our services while creating welcoming community spaces where people can connect and get involved in our work.
