Running the Vhi Women’s Mini Marathon for Disability Support

Every Step Counted

This May, 65 fundraisers took part in the Vhi Women's Mini Marathon in support of Avista Foundation, a fantastic group of staff members, individual supporters, and corporate partners who gave everything on the day. Together, they raised an incredible amount totalling over €6,000 for our work with children and adults with disabilities.

About The Event

Now in its 44th year, the Vhi Women's Mini Marathon is one of the most iconic events in the Irish sporting calendar and one of the largest women-only events of its kind in the world. This year's race took place on 31st May, with a record 30,000 participants taking to the streets of Dublin, all places selling out in just 48 hours. The 10km route winds through Dublin city centre from Fitzwilliam Place to Lower Baggot Street, and the atmosphere on the day is something that stays with everyone who takes part.

Our Team, Partners, And The Day Itself

We were particularly proud to be joined this year by Irish Pensions and Finance as a corporate partner, whose support helped make this such a strong team effort. Alongside IPF, our group included Avista staff members and individual fundraisers who chose to run in our name, each of them training, fundraising, and showing up on the day in support of our cause.

Before the starting gun, we welcomed our fundraisers to a bag drop at the Lutheran Church in Ireland on Adelaide Road for a chance for everyone to gather, leave their bags in safe hands, and fuel up for the kilometres ahead before heading to the start line.

What It Means

The funds raised through this event will go directly towards supporting the work we do every day, building more inclusive lives for people with disabilities. To every runner, donor, and supporter who made this possible, thank you. You are the heart of what we do.
